With a staff of 14,000, the TCDSB is a dynamic school board and is seeking a Plumber within the ESS Operation s & Maintenance East/West department.

PLEASE NOTE :

• Hours of work will fall within the evening shift band and may change consistent with the collective agreement. Hours to be confirmed upon hire.
• Flexible home base, to be determined by management, based on system needs.
• Written and practical tests will be facilitated to short-listed candidates

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor in their assigned region
• Responsible for an established preventative maintenance routine
• Timely response to emergency needs and repairs to all plumbing systems within the region
• Responsible for safe operation and safekeeping of tools supplied by the Board, safe operation and maintenance of company vehicle, while in use
• Maintain accurate records (e.g., vehicle maintenance, work orders, timesheets etc)
• Perform other job related duties as required
• The use of proper safety protective equipment is required at all times

QUALIFICATIONS :

• Must have a valid current Plumbing License from Skilled Trades Ontario
• Backflow Prevention Certification or in progress (Cross Connection Control Specialist)
• Minimum of five years (5) practical experience in construction, maintenance, or service industry
• Must be proficient in the English language in order to comprehend manuals and maintain work records
• Demonstrable knowledge of building plumbing systems
• Ability to function without close supervision
• Must have a valid Ontario Driver's "G" license. If candidates are selected for an interview, they must submit proof of good driving record before the interview
